Getting to know Phyllis Mageau

Phyllis has been a licensed Realtor® since 1988, first in the state of Hawaii and since 2005 in Bend. She currently holds a state of Oregon Principal Broker’s license. A native of the Monterey Bay, Calif., area, she moved to the Hawaiian Islands to visit relatives and explore her Hawaiian heritage. This visit evolved into a 20-year stay in Maui, where she began her real estate career.
Phyllis moved to Bend in 2004 and obtained her Oregon real estate license the following year, continuing her career in Bend. Phyllis has been selling real estate in NW Crossing since 2007 and has a long history working with Harcourts The Garner Group. She is certified as an Earth Advantage Broker which provides brokers with the knowledge and skills to communicate with clients about the value and benefits of green homes. This allows her to translate her personal mission of living environmentally friendly lifestyle to her work. Phyllis strives to create a seamless, stress free buying and selling process for all of her clients with her extensive knowledge and background in real estate.
Phyllis enjoys cheering on her son Jake in ski competitions as well as playing her ukelele with family and friends.For many years Phyllis has been heavily involved in Relay For Life of Bend which benefits the American Cancer Society. She has also volunteered for the Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation. Phyllis enjoys the outdoors with her friends and she loved big wall & rock climbing in the Yosemite Valley and the Sierras. Now she loves exploring all that the Deschutes wilderness has to offer.

Wardrobe malfunction during dress rehearsal in a college dance performance

I was a 70’s – 80’s Yosemite & Sierra’s Big Sur rock climber. Climbed many walls and routes including the faces El Capitan and Half Dome

Yes, my all time favorite was meeting Ansel Adams; he invited me to his home and studio

To play any instrument by ear

What was your favorite band 10 years ago?
The Beatles will always be a favorite of mine

Have you had your 15 minutes of fame yet?
I was an extra in the Master Gunfighter, not the greatest movie to brag about but it was fun, Barbara Carrerainvited my sister and I to be in the movie.

Who is my favorite person?
My son, he is an amazing athlete, skier and a compassionate good-hearted person!
